Tomoko Masuda received her Master’s Degree in Counseling and Human Development from Radford University of Virginia in 2008. Having experienced her practicum and internship at the community agency, middle school, high school, and the international center of university, she worked as a Therapeutic Day Treatment counselor and an Intensive In-Home counselor at the private sector of human services. Currently, she lives in Tokyo temporarily due to her husband’s job and work at middle schools to support students and their parents with various needs.
With 4000 hour supervised residency in counseling practice with various populations and 200 hours of supervision by licensed supervisors, she passed the National Clinical Mental Health Counselor Examination (NCMHCE) and became licensed by the Department of Health Professions of Virginia in June, 2012. She is also approved as the National Certified Counselor (NCC) by the NBCC（National Board for Certified Counselors）.
